Tsomgo lake is 1 km long oval shaped glacial lake which is situated in East Sikkim, 40kms from Gangtok.Tsomgo means "source of water" and the altitute of this lake is 12,310 feet.
The lake has a own scenic beauty but it becomes more & more attractive with the reflection of surrounding mountains on the water.The source of the water of this lake is melting snowfall which is coming from the surrounding mountains.
It takes time to reach this lake about 2 hours by car from Gangtok and the suitable time for visit this lake is before noon because after noon the climate becomes change.10.00 am is the best time for visit this lake when you can spend your time with this lake and soak the serene beauty of this lake and its surrounding environment.
During winter season it becomes frozen and the route to reach of this lake gets closed due to heavy snowfall when photography is not allowed at this time.
During spring & autumn season it becomes so charming due to various types of coloured flower & other alpine vegetation surround the lake.
The changu lake is a most beautiful lake and a famous tourist spot also.
