CANO CRISTALES (RAINBOW RIVER), CENTRAL COLOMBIA

Cano Cristales is also known as 'Rainbow river', 'Liquid rainbow' or 'River of five colours' (100 km long) which is situated in serrania de la Macarena (mouth of Guayabero river), Colombia.

Cano Cristales is the most beautiful river in the world which plays different shades of colour in a natural display.It runs during certain months (end of July through November) of the year with different shades of red,yellow, orange, blue etc.It is caused by the plants Macarenia clavigera on the riverbed (Family;Podostemaceae) which is an unique species of plant and  turns red or into different shades of red from blood red to maroon.The red plants grow and stick to the rocks.

The river also has natural swimming pools, waterfalls, interesting rock formations.This is the main attraction of Colombia where tourist rush to witness display of this natural work of colour art.
In September and October, the colour is very intensive and the contrasts are just awesome.And the water of this river is very clean & clear and it is a fast-flowing river.And the surrounding environments are also mindblowing.

HOW TO REACH IN THIS RAINBOW RIVER

You have to take fly to La Macarena town and then take taxi to the Saerrania de la Macarena National Park, then you can walk or even ride a horse to the Cano cristales.

And the local airline company, La Satena offers direct flights from Bogota and back three times per week (each Wednesday, Friday & Sunday).

But at first, you will need to ask for permit to visit the park from the National Parks Office in advance because only limited numbers of visits per day are allowed and they are mostly given to agencies.

BEST TIME FOR VISIT THIS RAINBOW RIVER

If you'll go in Colombia you must have to see this river and the best time to see this river is between June & December (when colours are very clear) because dry season falls between January & May, during which time visitation by tourists is prohibited.

Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is the Asia's largest tulip garden which is situated in the foothills of Zabarwan range (on the bank of Dal lake), Srinagar, Kashmir.It is opened in 2007 and it is encircled by Nishat Bagh & Chashma Shahi garden from three sides.There are near about 70 varities of tulip flowers are present and it is one of the most popular tourists attraction in Srinagar.

This garden looks like as paradise and it is adorned  not only with the tulip flowers but also daffodils, narcissus and other ornamental plants.There are near about 70 varities different colours of tulip flowers present.The beauty of this garden is just awesome in one word and it can mesmerizing to you.

This garden was ranked among the top 5 tulip destinations in the world at the Tulip summit in Canada in 2017. The eye gets riveted parallel running rows of more than a million multi colored tulip flowers and it is full of red, yellow, purple, white colours of tulip flowers.It looks very beautiful.There are hybride flowers also present in their own flower bed and the brilliant colour of these flowers will surely dazzle your senses.

When this tulip laden beds are viewed from a distance it looks like a rainbow which has descended on the earth.

The Tulip festival is held every year at the beginning of Spring in Srinagar (between March & April) when the flower buds are ready to bloom. This festival lasts for fifteen days or a month  as different flowers continue to bloom creating a rainbow colours.Tourists can buy souvenirs & savour Kashmiri delicacies from outside the garden.And you can enjoy better facilities like more water fountains, more bathrooms & free Wi-Fi facility.

NATHU LA PASS, SIKKIM

Nathu La pass (mountain pass) is situated in the Himalayas in the East Sikkim which connects the Indian state of Sikkim with China's and Tibet Autonomous Region. And it is also located 54km east of Gangtok. Nathu La was reopened in 2006 following many bilateral trade agreements.

The height of this pass is 4310 metre above from the mean sea level which forms a part of an offshoot of the ancient Indian Silk road.If you will go in Gangtok you should have the visit of this pass which is at China boarder.You can visit this pass  by  taxi and the beauty of the surrounding road is just amazing and you can enjoy the serene beauty of this pass.

This pass also has a rugged beauty and it is a famous tourist spot. Nathula La pass is only open for Indian visitors for 5 days in a week including Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday and closed for Monday & Tuesday.

The best time for visit this Nathu La pass is May to October when temperature are around 10 degree celsius. In winter it is closed for heavy snowfall.

Foreign nationals are not allowed to visit this pass and photography is strictly prohibited and visitors have get a permit to visit the place by applying to the tourism and Indian Civil Aviation department through the registered travel agency.

Dal lake is formed from five lake basins- the Nehru park, Nishat, Hazratbal, Nagin & Brari. It is a vast sheet of water reflecting the misty peaks of the Pir Panjal mountain and carved wooden balconies of the houseboats. Shikara is the main transport goods in this lake (Shikara is a one type of wooden boat pointed at both end which is found in Dal lake and have beautifully decorated canopies overhead). Shikaras are the cultural symbol of Srinagar which is found only in Srinagar.

You can take your train to Jammu followed by taxi or bus ride to Srinagar.And Jammu has an excellent airport that has many flights from Delhi (Spice jet, Air India, Jet airways, Goair etc.).Srinagar international air port is also well connected to major cities & outside the India and Dal lake is easily accessible via all mode of local transport (buses & auto rickshaws)

             

LONAR LAKE: A MYSTERIOUS LAKE OF THE WORLD

Lonar lake (round shaped) is located in Buldhana district, Maharashtra which is also known as Lonar crater and it is the world's third largest crater which is formed by high velocity impact crater of basaltic rocks.

It is not visited by many people because they are unaware about this beautiful & mysterious lake.

It is a mysterious lake because the water of this lake has magnetic power but the reason is totally unknown.There are two distinct water regions are present which are not mixed with each other- actually the ecosystem of this lake is pretty unique.

The outer region of this lake is neutral with pH level 7 and the inner region of this lake is alkaline with pH level 11. And there is no vegetation found on the belt of mud due to alkaline nature.

Still now it is undiscovered why the water of this lake has magnetic power and unique ecology.Scientists have puzzled by this strange electromagnetic disturbance and have tried to find the proper reason.

Besides these Lonar is a place of temple where you find many temples like- Gomukh temple, Chopda Mahadev temple, Shiva temple, Hanuman temple & Daitya sudan (Vishnu) temple.

The surrounding environment of these temples provide to you a pleasant feeling.

If you want to see this mysterious Lonar lake on your own eyes and also these temples you have to go Maharashtra which is 150 km away from Aurangabad and 390 km from Nagpur.
